Denali National Park and Preserve (formerly Mount McKinley National Park) lies on the north flank of the Alaska Range, 250 miles south of the Arctic Circle. The park entrance, accessible by highway, railroad and aircraft, is 237 highway miles north of Anchorage, and about half that distance from Fairbanks. The park is open year-round to visitors. Hotel, campgrounds, and food and shuttle bus service within the park are available only from late May or early June to mid-September. The shuttle bus system tours are to allow visitors a means of viewing the park without disturbing the wildlife. These are just a few of the pictures I took a few years ago when we went in May before the tour busses started for the year. My family and my bosses family made a day out of it and had a picnic and too long of a walk. LOL I didn't get any still photos of the animals but did get some on the camcorder. We are going again this year so I hope to get some animal pictures. We did see lots of animals tho.
