This is down town Fairbanks. We didn't get a whole lot of snow that year. It might look like it tho the way it is piled up on the side walk. LOL Our first winter here in Fairbanks we did get lots of snow. Snow was piled up higher than my car. My kids made tunnels in the snow piles and would slid down the top and come out the bottom.

These pictures are taken at the Golden Days parade in Fairbanks. Miss Ricki who plays the part of the grande madame of Golden Days, is getting ready to don her flamboyant fashions for her final season in the role she created, which is part Mae West and part Dolly Parton. She has worked on the Golden Days jail for 20 years and has been the leader of the Golden Heart Dancers since she founded the group in 1985. Their leader bacame Miss Ricki after a tourist saw the Golden Days hoosegow parked outside J.C. Penney's once and made a comment about Miss Kitty of "Gunsmoke" fame.
