Mount McKinley is the highest mountain on the North American continent. Measured from the 2,000 foot lowland near Wonder Lake to its snowy summit at 20,320 feet , the mountain's vertical relief of some 18,000 feet is greater than that of Mount Everest. It is so tall that it makes its own weather. It is a rare event to get to see the mount with out cloud cover.
