For this tutorial you will need Jasc PSP 9 . This was written using 9 but it can be done in 8 or 7 with a few adjustments.

I used Silver Shimmer pre-set that I got from Dee's Blade Pro Pre-sets

You can get the alpha channel canvas and supplies here. In the down load is a hair tube, eye candy pre-set that goes in the weave folder. I got it from one of Jo-Ellen's tutorials. Sense she is one of my special friends she lets me use her goodies.

Airbrush settings.

Smudge settings.

1. Open alpha channel canvas. Load wing alpha channel and flood fill with white. Apply Eye Candy Weave preset JER_Grating.

2. Load wing 2 alpha channel, flood fill with white. Apply SuperBlade Pro setting Silver Shimmer. Sharpen once.

3. Load dress shadow alpha channel. Flood fill with # F2E8D4. In the layer palette click the lock to lock the transparency. Apply cutout using these settings, vertical -5, horizontal 0, opacity 100, blur 19.

4. Load feet alpha channel flood fill with 4th color on chart. Keep selected, add new layer. Change size of airbrush to 3 spray as in screen shot below. Smudge to blend shading.

5. Load dress alpha channel, flood fill with light blue color. Keep selected and add new layer. Air brush with darker blue for shading as in screen shot below. Smudge to blend.

6. Load right sleeve and flood fill with light blue color. Do the same for the left sleeve layer. Load hands alpha channel layer and flood fill with flesh color. We did the hands now so we can see where to add the shading for the sleeves. Click back on the right sleeve. Load the alpha channel and add new layer. Use the darker blue for the shading as in screen shot below. Carefully smudge to blend.

7. Turn off the hands layer. We will do them last.

8. Load head layer and flood fill with 4th color on chart. You can use my face or draw your own. If you use my face. Open face image from download. Load head alpha channel and copy and paste into selection.

9. For the hair I used the hair-tight curls brush. If you are using PSP 7 or 6 I made a hair tube that is in the download. Just load it as you would any other tube.

10. Load hair alpha channel flood fill with any color. We are going to delete this when done with the hair. deselect. Add new layer. Choose the 2 colors you want for your hair. I used #000000 and # 202020. Set the size to about 20 click around the inner areas. For the small part at the neck use size 8 to 12. Go around the edges changing the rotation. On the out side you don't want it to be all the same. Little whisps here and there. When you get the basic shape done delete the layer you flood filled. Now click around the inside till it is all filled in. Also change the size here and there so it looks natural.

11. Click on the hands layer and load the alpha channel. Add new layer and use the 7th color for the shading. Airbrush as in screen shot below. Smudge carefully to blend.

Optional: I used the Xero Porcelain filter applied twice for a different look.
