By using this tutorial you agree to my terms Feel free to use your own colors for this. For this tutorial you will need Jasc PSP 9 . This was written using 9 but it can be done in 8 or 7 with a few adjustments. You can get a canvas on second page for painting instructions if you don't want to draw your own image. This is a very simple and basic shape to make. Open transparent canvas 500 X 650. Use preset shape ellipse. Draw out a basic barrel shape. Choose your own color. Use background color and set foreground to nil. When I am drawing out a image I use any color that is handy. LOL I just used a light brown here. Name this layer barrel.
Add new vector layer name it inside. Change color to a darker shade. Use the ellipse and draw a shape like the one below. Leave some of the barrel in the back showing.
Add new vector layer name it inside 2. Change color to lighter shade. Draw out a oval as in screen shot.
Add new vector layer name it bands. Click on the pen tool set color to black or a dark color. Set background to nil. Set size to 30, connect segments unchecked. Vector and show nodes checked.
Save as barrel in PSP format. Duplicate canvas and close saved copy. Convert
all layer to raster layers. Click on barrel layer. Click
on selection tool Page 2 for painting instructions.
