 Bell

Feel free to use your own colors for this.

For this tutorial you will need Jasc PSP 10 . This was written using 10 but it can be done in 8,9 or 7 with a few adjustments.

Below is the smudge settings I used.

Air brush settings.

You can get my alpha channel canvas here.

For those that prefer to make there own vector shapes please feel free to do so.

" I like to do my shading all on one layer. In the layer palette click the lock  to lock the transparency.

To make it easier to see shading on the ring, go ahead and flood fill the bow layers 1 and 3 with the bright red, and bow layer 2 with the darker red.

1. Load ring alpha channel, flood fill with 4th color on chart. Air brush with the 3rd color on inside and 6th color on the out side of ring for the top part as in screen shot. . Use white in the center of the bottom half. . Smudge to blend.

p

2. Load bell bottom alpha channel, flood fill with 5th color.

3. Load bell alpha channel, flood fill with 4th color. Air brush with 2nd and 3rd color as in screen shot. Smudge to blend. Alternate 1st color and white for the light areas. Left side whitest. Smudge to blend.

After smudging I changed the thickness and rotation of the brush to get a shaper edge for the darker line. Use 7th color for that. Smudge to blend.

3. Click on bell bottom layer and shade with 6th color as in screen shot. Smudge to blend. Use 4th color as in second screen shot.

4. Load button alpha channel. Do the same as you did for the bell bottom.

If you didn't load the bow layers at the start do it now. Layers 1 and 3 the bright red color, layer 2 with the dark red.

Use the paint brush with the Pastel preset change the size to 25. Set the foreground with the dark red and background bright red. Paint both layers. Click back on the bow 1 layer. I used the pj-distress brush that I got at PJ's Psp Stuff.  I use her brushes quite often so if you don't have them they are a must to have. Start in center of bow and smudge outward following the curve of the bow.

Change colors to #ff0000 and #400000 for the shading. Air brush as in screen shot below. Smudge to blend with your regular smudge brush. Do the same for the bow 3 layer. Use #ff0000 to shade the ends of the bow 2 layer. Use #400000 for the outer edges.

5. Load bow 4 alpha channel flood fill with the 4th color. Shade with 5th color and white in the center.
