Lighted Christmas Tree

This is a simple, animation using Paint Shop 7.

You can use either 5 or 6. This is my first tutorial. I hope you enjoy  it.

You will need a few tubes for this.

You can get them here

Open a new image: 400X400 transparent..   Add new layer naming it Background. Flood fill with color of your choice.

Add a new layer naming it Tree. Make a triangle in the center of your image add the Pine Snow tube. In this step I have the background turned off. Be creative in placing them. I started by outlining the triangle. Then fill in whole area. Making sure no background shows threw the pine. Next go to Image/Sharpen.

Add new layer naming it Ornaments. Put on as many ornaments as you like. I like lots of them. LOL

Now we make a new layer again and add the presents, cat and mice. You can add a new layer for each if you like depends on how you place them. Now Layers/Move Down, so they are under the tree.  Add new layer for the Angel on the top.

Add new layer naming it Rope. Chris cross rope as you like it. Next go to Layers/Move Down. Move down until rope is under the Ornaments.

Your image should look something like this.

Now the fun part adding the lights. Add new layer Lights. Place lights anywhere you  like them and as many as you like. Layers/Move Down to where they are under the rope layer. Now you have a decorated tree.

Make 4 copies of your image. Shift+D. Saving the orginal one in case you need to redo the lights

Image 1: Yellow: Click on the Layer Palette and turn off all layers except the Lights layer. Add new layer Flairs. Use the H Flare set at 10. Image/Zoom in by 1 to see image better. Put a flair on each yellow light.

Next is Color/Colorize. Make it as yellow as possable. Hue: 35 Saturation: 255

Next Color/Adjust/Gamma Correction. Set all the way to left getting it as dark as possible. 0.20 Turn on all layers and merge visable. Save as Image 1.

Image 2:  Blue: Do the same as image 1 but before you merge/visable add new layer for the flair on the Angel. Set flair at 20. Don't color it just leave color as is. Merge/Visable save as Image 2

Image 3: Red: Do the same as image 1.

Image 4: Green: Do the same as image 2

You are now ready to animate your Tree. I used the speed set at 30. You should now have a  Lighted Christmas Tree.

Hope you had a good time with this.

If you need any help just ask.
