Garden Angel

Feel free to use your own colors for this.

For this tutorial you will need Jasc PSP 8 .

Supplies you will need. The fabric 16 bmp goes into the textures folder.

1. Load hat back, flood fill with foreground color #D17625. Click on the background color box. Set the color #EFC49A then check the texture box and select fabric 16  angle 0, scale 100. Flood fill again with this.  Keep the texture checked. We will be using the texture threw out the tutorial. Feel free to use any texture you want. Deselect.  Click on the lock in the layer pallet. Use the air brush with these settings.

Brush around the top and side edges as in screen shot.

Apply noise, uniform, and monochrome checked, 12%.

2.Load hat brim. Do the same as above. After we get the head done we will add some more shading.

3. Load wing alpha channel. Change the foreground color to #471923 and background color to #D17487. Flood fill with foreground color then background color. Lock layer and airbrush around edges as before with color #923246. Add new layer. Use the pen tool line width 1, point to point, click once at curve of wing, then click again towards middle  as in screen shot. Right click on top node and select node type/symmetric. Pull top node up to make it curve. Click and make another line for the bottom curve on wing. Click layers/convert to raster. Apply gaussian blur 2. Turn off all other layers but the wing and merge visible.

Apply noise as above. Duplicate layer and mirror image.

4. Load body alpha channel. Use color #1A283C for foreground, #7095C9 for background. Flood fill same as before and airbrush around edges apply noise.

5. Load hand alpha channel. Use #D17625 for foreground color and #F8DDC2 for back ground. Do shading and line for thumb as you did before. Apply noise. Duplicate layer and mirror image.

6. Load arm alpha channel. Use color #1A283C for foreground, #7095C9 for background. Flood fill same as before. Lock layer and airbrush around edges apply noise. Duplicate layer and mirror image.

7. Load head alpha channel. We don't want to use the texture for the head. Flood fill with #F8DDC2, and use #E9B68D for the air brushing around edges. You can use my face supplied or make your own.

8. For the hair I used the goldielocks brush. You can get it here at Digital Art Resources.  If you are using PSP 7 just use the hair provided in the supplies. Just load the hair alpha channel and copy/paste into selection.

9. Load the leaf alpha channel. I didn't use the texture for the leaf because it was so small it didn't show up to good. Flood fill with #355426, air brush lightly on the top point with #8DC588. Airbrush around bottom edges with #123B05. Apply same noise. Click on the lightness up/darkness tool.  Use these settings

Click lightly in the middle of the tip moving towards the end as in screen shot.

10. Load the flower alpha channel. Lock layer and flood fill with #DA7F83, air brush around edges with 9C3343. Change the rotation to 52 and air brush in corners. Add some yellow dots for the center.  Use the lightness up/darkness tool to add some high lights to the flower. Change the thickness to 100 and the size to your liking. Click on the leaf layer and duplicate and mirror image to how you like.

11. You can now click on the hat brim and other layers and use the lightness up or darkness tool to add some high lights or darken some areas.

Whew all done with her. You can make some pretty flower for her to hold or have at her feet.
