Click on layer that is under the stems layer. Add new vector layer name it flower stem. Use preset shape ellipse. Draw out a skinny oval shape, click on pen tool and grab right node and pull up as in screen shot. Do the same for the other side. Click on bottom nodes, right click and change to symmetric. Move arrow in to make that part skinny. You want a shape like the second screen shot. Do not convert to raster yet. Lower opacity to about 30%.

Click on top layer on canvas and add new vector layer. Draw out another oval shape and then adjust your nodes and shape to look like next screen shot. Lower the opacity to this one to 30%. We are lowering the opacity so we can see where to place the next petal.

Do the same as the first 2 petals until you get 5 petals.

Now that wasn't so hard was it.
Now do the same for the second flower. You won't have a flower stem on this one. So just start with the petals. In the screen shot below I have them all numbered in the order to be made so the shading comes out right.

Now use the yellow to make the center. Now you can bring the opacity back up to 100% and do any adjustments you need to the petals. Make sure that there are no black spots showing between the petals.
Now we are ready to do the shading on the flowers. We are almost done now.
