By using this tutorial you agree to my terms

For this tutorial you will need Jasc PSP 8 .

You will also need Eye Candy 3.

We are going to use the pen tool and just draw some lines sort of like starting a tree.

Open canvas 500X500. Click on pen tool set size to 5, foreground color dark gray for now, (We will change that later) back ground turned off. Start at center bottom of canvas and draw one line up  click on then do one to the right.  Change the size to 3 and make some more.

Change size again to 2 and make some more lines  off the ones you did with the size 3.

Now change to size 1 and make some small ones.

Now reverse the color. Make background the gray and foreground nill.  Draw a base like in screen shot. All done with that part now. Save your image and shift+D to make a copy, close the first one. I like to keep a copy in vector layers so if I want to make some changes later or add to it I can.

Convert layer to raster. Lock layer pallet and flood fill with #F6589B. Apply inner bevel using these settings. Use smudge tool to take out some of the shinny on the base.

Change background color to #C68C80. Add new vector layer and move it under the image. Use the pen tool to draw around the image as in screen shot. Duplicate layer then turn it off and convert the other one to raster.

Apply eye candy 4000 weave settings, check Make gaps transparent.

Use the eraser tool with these settings and go around the edges. Keep it a little jaggy looking.

Merge layers. Duplicate and use color riser to change to yellow or green or what ever color you like. You should have something like screen shot below.

Hope everyone had fun with this.
