Feel free to use your own colors for this.

For this tutorial you will need Jasc PSP 10 . This was written using 10 but it can be done in 8,9 or 7 with a few adjustments.

Below is the smudge settings I used.

Air brush settings.

" I like to do my shading all on one layer. In the layer palette click the lock  to lock the transparency.

Open transparent canvas 750X800. I used a dark blue for the back ground. It was easier for me to see the white snowman. Use the ellipse to make your snow man shape. Drag out one shape at the bottom of canvas. Duplicate layer and resize 75%. Move that up for the tummy area. Duplicate again and resize 75%. Move that up for the head. When you get them how you want convert the 3 layers to raster and merge visible.

Stick arms: Add new vector layer. Move it below the snow man layer. Foreground color set to nil, background color #2b1303.  I used the pen tool wit the background color to draw out a stick. Sticks aren't perfect so you don't have to be picky with it. If it gets too wide in an area just move the node in or out if too thin. Now draw some fingers on your stick. Do the same for the other side of the snow man.

Hat back:  Add new vector layer. Use preset shape ellipse draw out a hat shape like screen shot below. Add new layer and make hat 2 shape.

Scarf front: I used preset shape rectangle. Add new vector layer for each section on scarf. Adjust the nodes to fit his neck area.

Fringe: I used the ellipse to make the fringe. You only have to make one. You will duplicate it after it is painted..

For his face and rocks down the front I just made some circles and use the warp brush on them to deform them a little.

I did the same for the carrot nose. I use the preset shapes for the pipe.

That's all there is to drawing out the snow man.

For his stick arms apply round inner bevel preset, then effects/texture wood grain preset I changed the size to 134. Apply twice.

Body:  Air brush with #c0c0c0, and #91a2c5 around body as in screen shot. Glaussian blur 1 then apply eye candy 3 jiggle setting in screen shot.

Fringe:  Effects/texture effects/ blinds, width 2, opacity 25 color a darker color than the color of the fringe. Light from left/top checked. Use the lighten/darken tool to darken the area under the top. Apply cutout vertical and horizontal 0, opacity 84, blur 13, color same darker as for blinds.

Duplicate fringe to make enough to go across the bottom of scarf. Make one extra use deformation tool to turn it for other part of scarf. It will be a little blurry so apply adjust/sharpness/un-sharp mask. radius 1.50, strength 40 chipping 5, luminance only checked.

Use any tile or pattern for the scarf. Use the lighten darken tool to darken and lighten as in screen shot below.

For the face and rock on do the same as you did for the arm sticks. For the pipe air brush some lighter color you used for the pipe then smudge to blend.  Apply same texture setting only once. For the carrot nose, blend some light orange and brown then some lines across. Smudge to blend.

Hat:  Air brush with #c0c0c0 and white as in screen shot. Smudge to blend.

Use the eraser with the settings below, to erase some of the top of the snow mans head as in screen shot.

That's all there is to making your snow man.
