We are making Toby Tiger. You will need Paint Shop Pro 7. You can get the trial version here.

You can get my Selections here. If you don't have a folder for them you can make one now. I usually have it on my desk top when working on a new tutorial. Then move it later to main selection folder.

1. Open new image 450X450 with transparent background. Add new layer.

2. Select TAIL in the selection folder. Flood fill with color #653D19 go to Selections/Modify/Contract 1. Flood fill with color C35F09. (Do the flood fill/Modify/Contract 1 then flood fill with other color at the start of each new selection.) Now we are going to add the stripes. Color for stripe is black. Open air brush and use these settings. Now Gaussian Blur set at 1. Keep selected.

Click on Selection/Float. Then Effects/3D/Cut Out apply these settings. Shadow color #653D19. Deselect.

3. Add new layer. Select body selection. Flood fill with #653D19 modify/contract1,Flood fill with #C35F09 then apply stripes. Gaussian Blur 1. Click Float an apply Cut Out but change Vertical to 11and Horizontal -11. Deselect

4.Add new layer. Select Hip selection. Instructions same as 3.

5. Add new layer. Select Front Back Leg. Flood fill with #653D19, modify/contract 1 flood fill with #C35F09 apply stripes Gaussian Blur 1.(Do Not Float) Now for something different to do. LOL Add new layer, Change color to F2A968, use these airbrush settings and spray lightly on toe. Gaussian Blur 2.Add new layer Apply Cut Out but change the Vertical and Horizontal to both -11

6. Add new layer, Select Tummy, Flood fill with #653D19, Modify/contract 1. Flood fill with #F7C799. Add new layer apply Cut Out change Vertical and Horizontal to -11. Deselect.

7. Add new layer, Select Frontleg2, Instructions same as 5

8. Add new layer,Select Head Flood fill with #653D19, Modify/contract 1, Flood fill with #C35F09. Deselect That is all we are going to do to the head for now. We will get back to it in a bit.

9. Add new layer, Select Muzzle Flood fill with #653D19, Modify/contract1, Flood fill with #F0A968. Selections/Float, then apply Cut Out change Vertical and Horizontal to 2. You can add a drop shadow now or wait till Toby is done. LOL I usually add the drop shadows at the end.

10. Click back on the head layer. Load Head selection Add new layer use airbrush same settings as on toe's. sprits around bottom of head and top edges with #E59750. Then around the muzzle area. Gaussian Blur 3. Add new layer then apply the stripes. Gaussian Blur 1. Deselect and merge head layers.

11. Add new layer, Select Nose, flood fill with black and apply this Inter Bevel two times.

11. Click on Front Leg layer. (layer below head) Add new layer Select Ears. Flood fill with #653D19 Modify/contract 1 flood fill #C35F09. Modify/contract 10 flood fill with #E5975.Add new layer, apply stripes. Float apply Cut Out. Turn off all other layers and Merge ears layers.

12. Click on head layer then Add new layer. We need to make some eyes. Click on pre-set shapes Foreground color set to Black, background set to white.

Make small oval put black stripe down center, apply round inter bevel setting. Or the bevel of your choice. Go to Image/Rotate/15 degrees left. Duplicate layer/mirror image. Arrange eyes turn off all other layers then merge eyes.

Now we are going to make whiskers and mouth. Add new layer for each. Use draw tool set at 2. Draw in your whisker and mouth and wall la you are done with Toby.

Now Toby need something to stand on. Click here to make it.
